Well a lot of people assume that a campaign that just breaks even or looses $1-2 is bad or a failure and decides to kill it. Well that is a bad idea! If you read my previous post on credit cards or debit cards you’ll understand where this is going.

If you have a campaign, spending $1000 a month on PPC and making back $1000 with Copeac lets say, then your still profiting. 5% cash back would give you $50 (now making profit) and that would also give you 1000 airmiles which can come in handy. Those miles can give you a nice free EXPENSIVE break with free flight upgrades and hotel upgrades depending on your flight. Plus you use the cash back as holiday money.

Even if your loosing money, it’s really worth keeping the campaign going and seeing if you can revive it some how. If your loosing $10-20, your still gaining a lot more through rewards on your card. It really is worth paying for those premium cards too. For that $100-200 a year you really pay it off from the rewards.

Tomorrow I will be going to my bank for a background check before I get my new cards. I’ll keep you updated ;) .

Credit CardsWell when I joined Google AdWords, I thought to my self “It’s safer to use a debit card”. Well it’s true in a way, you won’t spend money you don’t have, however if you think about it – it’s dumb. Your probably thinking why, right? Well credit cards are an expensive of borrowing money, but if you can afford to pay it off fairly quickly, it can be used to your advantage. This is while loads of people request weekly payouts from their networks.

With many cards, you get rewards for every $1 spent. Some give you 1-5% cash back, others give you cash back and air miles or points of some sort. Now if your into PPC, and spend a lot of money and more importantly make profit then this is ideal. If your spending $100,000 a month then that’s $5,000 back every month if you pay within X amount of days. Some even give you the miles, so 100,000 miles can take you pretty much anywhere in the world and probably get you a nice hotel, most likely 5 stars. On top, you have that $5,000 to spend on holiday! Now you can see where the rewards are in breaking even ‘ey?

Makes sense to use a card now I bet? Well now I know what your thinking. (more…)

So recently, the new wordpress 2.6 was released. I’ve already got this version up and running on all of my blogs within seconds of it being released! Before I tell you how, you can see some of the latest features in wordpress 2.6 here:

Now, back to how I upgraded my blogs within just seconds. I use a plugin on all my blogs called Wordpress Automatic Upgrade! This little nifty plugin lets me press a single link, and job done. It fetches the latest version of wordpress, extracts it then takes me to the upgrade page. Once upgraded, I run the cleaning process.

It’s a safe plugin too, before upgrading it backs everything up before it upgrades. This means that if anything does go wrong, you can just restore the backup!

So as you know, recently I’ve been giving affiliate marketing a go, as that is my only option left. After doing some searching and some recomendations I joined WickedFire. This was probably one of the best moves I have made in my internet career. That forum is full of information and experts to the highest level. People on that make 4figures+ a day!

Yahoo So I joined some new affiliate networks and found a campaign. I checked the compeittion and it was minimal, so I made my campaign on google adwords and off I went! A good start. I was doing fine, until my campaign keywords started to say Exceeded daily budget, but I had spent $0.00! So I phoned them, and they said they’d look into it and update me tomorrow.

Google GI woke up in the morning to find an email in my inbox telling me I’m suspended! They refused to tell me why on 2 occasions and said they cannot revoke my suspension. Not good. So my only option left was MSN, Yahoo! and facebook. Yahoo! and MSN delivered around 100impressions and 1 click in a day which is very poor. However, I must admit I’m not very experienced with either networks; so that may be why.

I found Yahoo! to be pricey and MSN was poor all round.

So it’s the 4th day after the promotion has finished, and I thought I’d update every one on the progress the site is still making.

As expected, the traffic is dropping by a lot because the promotions have stopped. However, I am still getting traffic daily from those initial 2 days which is good. The pay is brilliant. $1cpm from Adbrite and $0.20cpm on the banners from RMX.

Above you can see the stats. Please remember sunday is still ongoing. The orange bars are return users which is low.

So yesterday I was looking for additional ways to monetize my blog, as adsense on it’s own is not safe or stable. While going through some sites, I came across Adpinion. The site design was nice, neat and clean so I decided to have a look. What I found was AMAZING and is now on my blog :)

I stumbled accross a digg like publisher company. You tell them if you like adverts, so they show more like that, and if you don’t press thumbs down and they will show you less adverts like that! Great isn’t it? While the company is in Beta they will pay you 100%, so they take no cut what so ever.

As you can see, the ads have a little bar along the side with their little menu. The menu has three main items. Thumbs up, thumbs down and their logo. The above is a live example of their ads, so you can hover over the icons and see for your self. There is also a 468×60 at the bottom of this page. The ads are in fact bigger than traditional ads, by roughly 15pixels.

All the ads are delivered in a Pay Per Click style, and are 100% images (from what I have found out so far) which as we all known have a better CTR rate compared to text ads. However, the only downside is that these ads are not contextual, but they are made more relevant by your own users individually rather than grouping your audience as a whole. So 2 users may be interested in your topic overall, but one may be interested in the iPod and one interested in the Zune. So it’s pointless showing them both the Zune or the iPod. So they can choose the ads by using the rating system which will make it more relevant over time!

AdOpinion dashboard

Another great thing about Adpinion is that the earnings figure is real time! All my clicks so far have been double figure and can easily compete with AdSense without a doubt. You can see my dashboard to the left of this. I don’t know how they feel about sharing stats, so I’ve blurred them all out just to be safe. The dashboard is designed nicely, and every thing is easily readable with graphs etc. The tags are at the bottom of the page, and graphs are used through out the reports which is nice. The graphs are hourly, which can help you identify which hours are the best for earnings, impressions etc. There is also a pie chart of the votes. So far, my blog has 100% “I like it” votes, which is nice to know.

The site also has a “feedback” button which I find useful. If you have any ideas or have found bugs you can quickly let them know. If you put your email address in the box, they’ll let you know what they’ve done with your feedback too.

Female personal trainerSo with me living in Leicester city my whole life, I go to a gym in Leicester. So one day I got really bored (badly) and I though why not make a site. I was in the mood to write!

I opened up notepad and started writing away and ended up with 2 pages before I though “Arggg”. Hopped over to Alloy Hosting and registered a domain name. Logged in to my cPanel and added the domain.

I went on to install wordpress, download a theme then edited it after making a new logo. I added AdSense for my monetization using their normal ads and link units, which I think look very nice. Added my pages, then went on to make my site XHTML valid which took about 30mins. Final result is Leicester Personal Trainers I still need to add some articles etc, which I will outsource.

All I have left to do is some link building and some analysing on the site to get it ranking well in the search engines.
