Credit CardsWell when I joined Google AdWords, I thought to my self “It’s safer to use a debit card”. Well it’s true in a way, you won’t spend money you don’t have, however if you think about it – it’s dumb. Your probably thinking why, right? Well credit cards are an expensive of borrowing money, but if you can afford to pay it off fairly quickly, it can be used to your advantage. This is while loads of people request weekly payouts from their networks.

With many cards, you get rewards for every $1 spent. Some give you 1-5% cash back, others give you cash back and air miles or points of some sort. Now if your into PPC, and spend a lot of money and more importantly make profit then this is ideal. If your spending $100,000 a month then that’s $5,000 back every month if you pay within X amount of days. Some even give you the miles, so 100,000 miles can take you pretty much anywhere in the world and probably get you a nice hotel, most likely 5 stars. On top, you have that $5,000 to spend on holiday! Now you can see where the rewards are in breaking even ‘ey?

Makes sense to use a card now I bet? Well now I know what your thinking. What card, what card should I use? Well there is only 1 option if your international (outside of the US) and you work in USD as most do. That is American express. This is because most banks charge you for changing currencies, where as with Amex everything is in dollars by default. Their programs also have a lot of solid rewards, but some have annual fees and some are for the elite of the elite only. Yeah, I’m referring to the black card.

Here are some of their cards, benefits and cons:

Amex Gold Card:

With this card you can earn 1 Membership Rewards point for virtually every $1 you spend. Redeemable for airline, hotel, car rental and exciting merchandise rewards. On top of that, all cards for your employees are free and their points all accumulate so you can spend them all if you want haha! The con to this card is the annual fee. This fee varies depending on where you are from, but for the UK is currently at £95 a year. This is not bad if you add up your rewards, and can easily be covered if you are making enough profits for a card to be useful.

Amex Platinum Card:

American Express platinumThis is probably the best card for you, unless you can spend into the millions a year, and have had this card for a year. Then I suggest you get the Amex Black card which is extremely hard to get and very prestigious! Until this, you have to make do with this beast of a card. Like the Gold card, this has no preset limits either. This card has great travel benefits. They give you a personal team, who you call to arrange everything and they will make sure your holiday is top notch. There are so many benefits with this card – I can’t cover them all. It is worth taking a look at though, this card will definitely make you feel special. The only downside is yearly cost which can be very great depending on where you live. It can go into the thousands a year.
